Fall is Upon Us

Fall is upon us in North Dakota. Cool nights, pleasant days and the leaves starting to turn. Time to load the wood rack and build a fire on the chilly nights. Such a beautiful time. I don't even mind the thought of what comes after fall!

I've been enjoying Kyle's football games whenever I can during the beautiful weather. I can't believe he's playing varsity ball already. Tara is playing Jr. High volleyball in Webster. I plan to get to some of her games that are closer to Ellendale. Krista is involved in Prom fund raising. Help I'm getting old! Slow down kids, please. :(

My sisters, Betty and June, are still around but will be leaving for home in a month or so. I'm trying to wean myself by not spending quite so much time with them as I always miss them so when they go. They're helping me quilt a Christmas hankie quilt. It will be so much fun to have during the holiday season.

As most of you know, quilting is my favorite pass time. I have so many things started and so many more ideas in my head that I hope to be very organized and productive over the winter months. I tend to be a good time waster and get nothing done, so I'm challenging myself to change my ways.

I may be difficult to concentrate on projects with Mike and Mandy's twins due in December and the announcement of another grandchild due in April. Yes, I said another grandchild!! Matt and Michele shared their news recently! I can't believe how lucky I am. This will make 12!! (For me not them!!)

It's very evident that I've not kept up with my blogging very well. I have good intentions but time seems to get away from me. I will do better as I enjoy reading blogs from friends and family so I want to share also. So until the next time, enjoy the day!

August Birthdays

What a beautiful day we're having. It almost feels like fall in the air. It's my favorite time of the year. I love the cool nights (47 last night) and the sunny warm days. I didn't say hot though. We've finished celebrating our 2 August birthdays. Hunter was 6 on the 19th and Dillon was 8 on the 21st. Both parties were full of excitement and squeals. I've noticed that it's my sons that get the kids riled up and make them noisy!! Imagine that!! I'm glad the young people get excited over having birthdays and getting older. I don't think it's all too great!! :( I'll post a couple of birthday pics.

Welcome!!

Welcome to Life With Granny. I'll try to post from time to time of happenings in my life and in my family. It seems there is always something changing. For now I will just say hi and give a brief summary. Much more to come later.

As most of you know I manage the bookstore at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND. Now is a very busy time with the freshmen coming in on Saturday the 23rd of August. It's also an exciting time full of energy and anticipation of a new life on the campus. I enjoy my job very much. I feel privileged to be around so many young people with so much to offer.

My 4 children are are all close by. Kelly is in Webster, SD and has 3 daughters. Krista is 16 (nearly 17), Tara 13 1/2 and Taylor 6. I know Taylor, almost 7! Kelly works at St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. Jeff and his wife Carrin are in Ellendale and have 2 sons, Hunter 6 and Riley 3 1/2. Jeff works with his Dad and Carrin is a teacher at the elementary school. Matt and his wife Michele are in Ellendale and have one son Kyle 15 and a daughter Alexius 8 1/2. Matt works for Dickey Rural and Michele at St. Luke's in Aberdeen. Mike and his wife Amanda also live in Ellendale and have one son Dillon 8 and a daughter Mackenzie 2 1/2. And hooray!! They are expecting twins the first of December!!! A boy and a girl. Double the gift and double the work!! Mike works with his Dad and Amanda works at Starion Financial.

I am so blessed to have them all so close and that they actually let me be part of their families!! I better watch it or they might change their minds.
